Over the weekend, two of our young people, Alex and Ben, had a taster of some hot laps in the lead up to the Super Sunday event that will take place at Motormall Raceway on Sunday 4th October. 🏎️🏁
They got up close with some incredible cars – Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren and Porsches, just to name a few. It was an amazing opportunity to get behind the scenes and discover a world not many people get to experience, before jumping in for the thrill of their lives.
“On the drive up here, you could just feel the excited energy,” Larissa Muir, our CEO said. “As soon as we drove in through the driveway, everybody just turned through the windows and was like, ‘Oh my goodness, I can’t believe we’re here.’ They were just so excited to be so close to Lamborghinis, McLarens, being able to talk to the car owners and getting more information about them.”
We are so grateful to be part of the Telethon community and for opportunities like these for our young people to have such one-of-a-kind experiences – safe to say they were STOKED!
“That was awesome. Bestest thing I’ve ever done. I will come here again,” Ben said.
“I loved it, I want to come with all my family members and friends so they can experience it too.”
Alex described the ride as, “the experience of a lifetime, I don’t even know what the best part was, the whole thing,” he said, “I went so fast, it was wicked.”
These are the sorts of experiences that we are so grateful to share with our young people at 12 Buckets. Seeing their faces light up with excitement, knowing the struggles they face and how much these experiences mean to them make these opportunities even more valuable. They are an escape from the day to day and eye openers for what is possible.
If you’d like to jump in for some hot laps whilst raising money for Telethon, make sure to get to Supercar Sunday! 😆🏎️🏁
